Using Kindred

Kindred is a promise-based productivity and reflection app. It helps you choose a small number of meaningful promises, focus during a chosen window, and reflect on how you showed up afterward.

Your promises and choices

The promises you create in Kindred are personal commitments for reflection and focus. You are responsible for deciding what to promise, when to work on it, and how to act on the information Kindred shows you.

Not professional advice

Kindred is not medical, mental health, legal, financial, academic, or other professional advice. The app may support planning and reflection, but it is not a substitute for qualified professional care, guidance, diagnosis, or treatment.

Safe and appropriate use

Use Kindred in a way that is safe, lawful, and appropriate for your situation. Do not rely on Kindred for emergencies, urgent decisions, or situations where a missed reminder, notification, or promise could cause harm.

Local data

Kindred is designed to work without an account. Promises, journal entries, companion details, settings, and preferences may be stored locally on your device. If you delete the app or reset your data, this information may be permanently removed.

Notifications

Kindred may send local notifications if you allow them. Notifications are provided as helpful reminders, but they are not guaranteed to arrive at a specific time or appear in every situation. Your device settings, Focus Mode, permissions, or system behavior may affect notifications.

Changes to Kindred

Kindred may change over time. Features, companion behavior, promise systems, journal views, settings, or availability may be added, adjusted, paused, or removed as the app improves.

Purchases

Kindred is offered as a one-time purchase through Apple and the App Store. Payment, refunds, and purchase issues are handled by Apple and are subject to Apple's policies and settings.
